We’ll first walk through the standard uploading process, but you can skip to the end to learn more about the simple drag-and-drop method of adding content to Collage.
Mastering The Standard Upload Flow
1. Log into your account where you'll arrive on your Dashboard. From here you have a few options for adding content to your account.
2. You can enter the upload flow by clicking on the "New Asset" button.
3. You can also enter the upload flow by using the "+ New" button in the left-hand navigation. When the navigation is collapsed the button simply shows "+".
4. Select "New Assets".
5. At this stage you can decide if you want to leverage the auto-tagging feature for your upload. If auto-tagging is turned on in your Account Settings, it will show as "On" by default on this page. If it's set to "Off" in your Account Settings, you can elect to turn it on when on this page.
6. Select "Off" or "On".
7. At this point you can either drag and drop files and folders into the page, or select "browse" to open the browser window and locate the items you'd like to upload from your computer.
8. Once you've selected files for upload, you'll see a progress bar to follow as each upload progresses. You'll see a green checkmark for each upload as they are completed. When every upload is complete, click "Next".
9. If you uploaded files and not folders, whether you've elected to use the auto-tagging or not, you now have the opportunity to add tags for each individual asset.
10. You can use the checkboxes next to each asset to select multiple...
11. You can also use the "Select" box above the assets to select all uploaded files.
12. With assets selected, you can now bulk apply tags to those specific assets.
14. Type your desired tag and hit enter.
15. Once you've applied your desired tags, it's now time to complete your upload. In Collage every asset is tied to a folder in the system - select a folder or use the "New Folder" button to create a new one. You can use the icon to the right of each folder to browse through subfolders as well.
16. Use this icon to navigate back up the folder hierarchy.
17. Once you've selected the desired folder, click the "Move" button to finalize the upload.
18. Now that you've completed your upload, you can navigate back to your Dashboard or any other area of the platform.
19. When back on the Dashboard, you'll find your recently uploaded assets in the "Recently Uploaded" section in the lower right corner.
Drag And Drop Content Into Your Collage Account
In addition to the standard upload flow, you can also drag and drop your content directly into the platform. You can select a single file, multiple files, or even a folder or folder hierarchy to drop into the platform. Additionally, you can drag all of these options either into the Dashboard or into an already existing folder.
Let’s chat through the various options below.
Drop into the Dashboard
Dropping an individual or multiple assets (not folders) into the Dashboard will cause the files to be uploaded and then added to the uncategorized folder. A notification will appear at the top of the Dashboard which will direct you to the page of the upload flow where you can adjust tags and assign assets to a folder.
If you select a folder to drop into the Dashboard, this could also be a folder hierarchy, all of the content will be uploaded and the platform will maintain the folder structure. This means that in addition to uploading the content, Collage will also create the folders and add them to the folder section of your account with the contained content. The highest level folder will become a parent folder in Collage.
Drop into a Folder
If you drag and drop an individual or group of files into a folder page in Collage, those files will be uploaded and automatically added to the selected folder.
If you drag and drop a folder or folder hierarchy of content into a folder page in Collage, the folder(s) will be added as a subfolder of the selected folder and all content will be uploaded.
Note: If you have the AI auto-tagging feature toggled on in your Account Settings, applicable content will be auto-tagged when using the drag-and-drop functionality.
